Every Sunday at 9am we offer a variety of electives that last anywhere from six to eight weeks. Our vision is to EQUIP our adults to live life as an authentic disciple of Jesus Christ. Over the course of the year we will offer as many as 15 different classes ranging from a study of a particular book of the Bible to a theme woven throughout Scripture. Our next set of EQUIP electives begins on Sunday, May 7. Be sure to read about our upcoming options and plan to be a part of one of the classes.
"The Lord is my Shepherd…" These are familiar words for so many. Psalm 23 is one of the best-known, most often-quoted passages in Scripture…for good reason. For the next five weeks we will journey through the 23rd Psalm, and learn or be reminded of the promises of the Good Shepherd, who promises guidance, restoration, comfort and provision for us—for all of our days, in every season.
As we go through our day, does it feel like everyone else has it all together? Someone always has the best job, cutest kid, or happiest relationship. We feel pressure to measure up to what we see on other people's social media. Over the next 5 weeks, we’ll spend our time studying what it's like to live a Christ-focused life in a world obsessed with self. We will work through finding compassion, authenticity, relationships, contentment, and rest among all the pressures and distractions of life around us.
"Natural theology" refers to what we can know about God through the natural universe. Gaps in our knowledge and understanding of natural theology can ultimately present as an inability to defend a God-centered worldview as rational when honestly questioned. These gaps can have unfortunate consequences such as ineffective evangelism, compromising in personal convictions, and more. This class will present a case for why natural theology is essential for more and better disciples, and will provide multiple lines of evidence for the existence/nature of God spanning various scientific and philosophical disciplines.
Our next set of EQUIP Electives is starting Sunday, May 7.
