Meet Our New Lead Pastor

Steve Miller

We are thrilled to welcome Steve Miller as the new Lead Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church.

A Joyful Announcement

We are grateful to share that, following the congregational vote on April 12, 2026, Steve Miller has been confirmed as the new Lead Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church. Throughout this process, our Pastoral Search Team and Elder Board sought the Lord’s wisdom and leading. We are thankful for God’s faithfulness and excited for this new season in the life of our church. As we look ahead, we invite our church family to continue praying for Pastor Steve, Elizabeth, and their family as they prepare for this transition and begin ministry here at Bethel.
A letter from the Elder Board
A year ago, our congregation charged the Elder Board with one of the most significant responsibilities a church family can give its leaders: finding the man God had prepared to shepherd Bethel Baptist Church into its next season. We have not taken that trust lightly.

We began by forming a search committee from within our own congregation and partnering with Vanderbloemen, a pastoral search firm, to cast a wide net and carefully vet candidates. After that thorough process, the committee brought a unanimous recommendation to the Elder Board: Steve Miller. We then spent considerable time in interviews, conversations, and prayer, listening carefully and seeking the Lord’s confirmation, before arriving at the same conclusion with full unity.

On March 22, 2026, the Elder Board voted to present Steve to the congregation as our Lead Pastor candidate. On April 12, 2026, the congregation affirmed that recommendation and confirmed Steve as the next Lead Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church.

We are grateful for the Lord’s faithfulness and guidance throughout this process. We believe Pastor Steve is biblically qualified, spiritually mature, and gifted to lead this congregation with faithfulness and care. We are excited for this new chapter in the life of our church and ask that you continue praying for Pastor Steve, Elizabeth, and their family as they prepare for this transition.

Meet Steve

Steve Miller has dedicated more than twenty years to pastoral ministry, offering a strong foundation of preaching, shepherding, and leadership development. He has a wide range of ministry experience that includes launching and leading campuses in a multi-site context and planting a gospel-centered church from the ground up. Steve thrives on building healthy teams, training new leaders, improving church systems, and forming strategic partnerships to bless the local community. He earned his B.A. in Christian Ministries from Southwest Baptist University and furthered his education with graduate studies at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. While he grew up in the Midwest, Steve's journey has taken him through both Missouri and Florida. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have been married for 26 wonderful years and have four amazing children: Chris (22), Alissa (21), Luke (19), and Jake (17). When he is not working, you can usually find Steve traveling to different ballparks, cheering on the Eagles, or warmly welcoming guests into his home.
Steve's Testimony
"I grew up in a non-Christian family in the Midwest. My mother battled ALS throughout my childhood, and much of our family life centered around caring for her and trying to have a “normal life,” as my dad would say. That normal life, though, did not include a spiritual life, nor the emotional capacity to know how to navigate such a great suffering.

It wasn’t until my oldest brother became a Christian that something would begin to change in our family. As a teenager, I was in his room one evening and noticed he had Bible verses written on little cards. With curiosity, I asked him what the Bible was about. That's when he shared with me the good news that Jesus lived, died, and rose again to forgive me of my sins and bring me into a right relationship with God forever.  He then asked if I wanted to give my life to Jesus, and I said...no. But the story didn't end there. Later that night, I was so restless thinking about what he shared. And shortly after midnight, he knocked on my door, and we went down to the kitchen to talk more about it, and there at the table, I surrendered my life to Jesus.

A few years later, when I went off to college, I really started studying the Bible, and that's when the seeds of that night in the kitchen began to grow. Jesus was securing me in His love, anchoring my identity and worth in His work, not mine, and He began showing me that no matter what suffering this life brings, He understands, He is with me, and He will use all of it for His glory and my good. The presence of Jesus changes people, and my life has been dedicated to knowing Him and making Him known."
