OUR BELIEFS

The following are the core beliefs of Bethel based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

We believe the one true and living God is one in essence, possessing three, personal distinctions: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

God's Word

We believe the Bible to be the verbally inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original manuscripts and the sufficient and final authority for all matters of faith, practice, and life.

Jesus

We believe Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary; that He paid the penalty for our sins on the cross and He rose from the dead three days later.

Holy Spirit

We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit and that He indwells and enables the Christian to live a godly life.

Humanity

We believe all human beings, except Jesus Christ, are totally depraved and guilty before God as a result of the fall of Adam. We commit acts of sin because we are sinners by nature.

Salvation

We believe the Triune God saves sinners by grace alone through faith in Christ’s substitutionary atonement alone.

The Church

We believe the universal Church is the body of Christ, comprised of all true believers from the past, present, and those in the future until the Rapture.  Jesus Christ is the sole head of the Church. We believe the local church is an assembly of immersed believers led by elders and served by deacons.

Ordinances

We believe there are two church ordinances: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Future

We believe that Jesus Christ is returning to the world in the future to judge the living and the dead.

Family

We believe God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. Marriage is the uniting of one man (from birth) and one woman (from birth) in covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God’s unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church. Life begins at conception, and children are a blessing and heritage from the Lord.
